Home networking is our specialty here at Wire Your House, We understand that there are many people in our small community that are not familiar with the home networks and the internet, or how they can have all of the computers in there home work together instead all stand alone. Home networking is so much more than just the internet, This is a way to connect your home. Technically both networks we install are LAN (Local Area Networks) but we typically call wired systems a LAN.
Wireless:
Wireless Networks are the most Flexible system but they can be
unstable.
With the freedom of wireless your can use your Laptop anywhere around the house,
Connect with personal devices like a palm pilot or PSP (Playstation Portable).
Security on your Wireless Network is the most important thing. The scary
part of not knowing about your home DSL service is not knowing when your are at
risk, Most wireless Routers purchased from your local electronics store or
from your DSL provider come with the wireless function enabled even if your are
not going to use it. This leaves your Wireless network unsecured for
anyone to log onto your network and do as they please. Don't let this
happen to you, If your are not sure that your Network is secure Please
call and have us look at it. Installation of a Wireless network will
include installing the Modem/Router (Customer Supplied), Configure the
security of your wireless network, and install any wireless Pc's you may own.
LAN:
This system is much more stable than the Wireless system as well as faster.
The main draw back is your are connected to the wall, and thus limited to where
you may use the network. With this system we install the DSL Modem and a
Network Switch in a central location. From there we will install Cat5e
Telecommunications cable to each of the locations in the house your would like
to have access to the Network. System will include All cable, Face plates,
and typical Hardware needed for installation.
Also Systems can be incorporated together, so you can have your desktops stationary but stable and you can still travel onto the back deck with your Laptop to surf the internet.
